Wilson Area High School football team drops 31-12 decision to Southern Lehigh

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Matt Durkin returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown today to spark Southern Lehigh High School's football team to a 31-12 Colonial League victory over winless Wilson at Smith Field.

Spartans quarterback Tyler Edmond threw a pair of touchdown passes to wide receiver Jacob DelPriore.

Trailing 17-0, Wilson (0-7 overall and league) pulled within 17-12 on Ryan Dailey's 9-yard touchdown pass to Angelo Perrucci and a 1-yard scoring run by Trey Robinson. The latter came with 9:58 left in the game.

Edmond hit DelPriore for a 25-yard touchdown on fourth-and-5 to put the Spartans (4-3, 4-3) back in control.

"It was looking good there for a while," Wilson coach Bret Comp said. "We had some hiccups here and there, but we found enough positives to build on."
