ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT welcomes volunteers for a "Start Your Day Right" Before-School Program at elementary schools. Be part of a team of community volunteers serving from 7:15-9 a.m. Monday through Friday during the school year. Training will be provided. FBI clearances and negative TB test required. COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR CHILDREN is looking for caring individuals to assist Head Start teachers with classroom activities in classrooms in Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton. Activities consist of reading, role playing and doing art projects. Minimum age: 16. Volunteer hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and begin Monday. DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR, Easton needs volunteers for its Marathon/Half Marathon on Oct. 23. Volunteer duties include cheering on the runners, staffing water stations, keeping runners on course, registration and check-in. Volunteers also needed prior to race day for race packet assembly. All volunteers receive a T-Shirt for race day. DOWNTOWN BETHLEHEM ASSOCIATION is looking for fashion merchandising students who need experience in hosting the Bethlehem Fashion event 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 15. Minimum age 15. Contact: Kara Johnson, 610-739-1775, karaj@lehighvalleychamber.org

LIBERTY BELL SHRINE MUSEUM, Allentown needs puppeteers and greeters to help with its classic "Mouse Before Christmas" puppet show featuring Pip the Mouse. The show begins Nov. 17 and continues six days a week until Dec. 31. We are also seeking help in planning the theme, marketing the program, and contacting schools. SHARE CARE FAITH IN ACTION, Allentown and Bethlehem need volunteers to assist clients. If you can spare just two hours a month, you could make a difference in the life of a member of our community. ST. LUKE'S HOSPITAL, Allentown needs volunteers in its Gift Shop 3-6:30 p.m. Fridays and 1-5:30 p.m. Saturdays to assist customers, straighten and restock merchandise. Also, East Lobby Greeter to guide patients and visitors to various areas of the hospital. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Friday.
