FROM KEITH GROLLER
It had to be a close vote, but Darrun “Money” Hilliard repeated as Lehigh Valley Conference boys basketball player of the year, edging out Allen’s Jalen Cannon and Nazareth’s Chuck Dibilio.
Mike Schneider, the Northampton athletic director and LVC boys chairman, released the team earlier today.
The coaches, who voted on the team, were informed earlier in the week.
The entire LVC team in order of votes:
MVP – Darrun Hilliard – Liberty
Jalen Cannon – Allen
Chuck Dibilio – Nazareth
Jake Hungarter – Becahi
Javier Rivera – Whitehall
Hilliard James Middleton – Easton
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman – Central
Lincoln Holley – Easton
Branden Harrington – Allen
DaQuan Holiday – Allen (shown defending Hilliard at the right).
Honorable Mention: Matt Wisely – Emmaus, Joe Lococo – Freedom,
Dante Holmes – Liberty, Bryce Higgs – Nazareth, Rob Dvoracek – Parkland.
Coach of the Year: Jim Hutnik – Easton.
Note: I have been asked, and at the moment don’t know the answer to this question but I will do the research: Who is the last freshman to make the East Penn/LVC all-star team? Central’s Abdur-Rahkman is the lone freshman on the list this year.
