COMPEER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown is looking for volunteers 18 and older for one-to-one friendship matches with adults who live with chronic long-term mental illness. Volunteers are matched with friends of the same gender to spend an average of an hour a week with their friend. Training will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 26. GIRLS ON THE RUN OF LEHIGH COUNTY seeks female volunteers to mentor and coach a team of 12 to 15 girls in third through fifth grades from March 21 to June 9. Days and times vary by site. Volunteers will coach the girls in life skills while training them to participate in a 5k run. Mandatory training for coaches will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 21. HAWK MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY, Kempton needs volunteers from March through November to provide information about the sanctuary and its programs. MILLER-KEYSTONE BLOOD CENTER, Bethlehem is seeking volunteers to serve drinks and cookies to blood donors at its Allentown and Bethlehem sites and in its bloodmobiles. SENIOR CORPS RSVP an organization for those ages 55 and older is looking for volunteers to help the elderly and disabled. Many people can stay living in their own home if they had a little help with simple things. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs volunteers for events Feb. 26, March 20 and April 2. Help is needed with daily tasks at the ranch.
