Here's the recap from Wednesday's high school softball action where there was again some surprising results and high scores:

LEHIGH VALLEY CONFERENCE

Freedom 6, Allen 0 -- Kylee Schwind and Shayla Peterson combine on 2-hitter, Kelsey Brandle HR.

Nazareth 15, Emmaus 7 -- First loss for the Green Hornets. 12 runs in the fifth paved way for Blue Eagles. Kelly Setzer HR for Nazareth, Morgan Patterson and Miryah Palko drove in three runs apiece for Hornets.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY CONFERENCE

Lehighton 10, ES South 1 -- Indians explode for 14 hits and get first win.

Stroudsburg 6, Pocono Mt. East 3 -- Sarah Canfield 3 RBIs.

Pocono Mt. West 21, Panther Valley 5 -- First win for new West coach and  Bangor product Briana Malachowski.

COLONIAL LEAGUE

Bangor 16, Palisades 8 -- Slaters bang out 18 hits. Courtney Constable  and Lexi Kessler 3 RBIs each.

Palmerton 7, Notre Dame 6 -- Janel Tracy 4 RBIs, Steph Brinker 3-3.

Southern Lehigh 6, Northwestern 2 -- Nicole Siffle, Sophia Rizzo 2 hits apiece.

Northern Lehigh 4, Saucon Valley 3 -- Cassie Toth 2-4, 2 RBIs, Amber Thomas WP, 8 strikeouts.

Pen Argyl 6, Salisbury 2 -- Alyssa Weaver 3-3, 2R; Emily Smull 2-3, 2R, 3 RBI; Corrine Ashmore 6-hitter.

Catasauqua 4, Wilson 2 -- First loss for the Warriors. Amarys Moten game-winning 2-run HR. Janae Matos 2 2Bs, RBI.
