Updated softball standings and Wednesday's roundup: Northern Lehigh rallies to stun Catty

Because of the lack of practice time outside due to the poor weather, we figured it would take awhile for teams to get completely in sync and so far that has been the case in area softball.

While Parkland, Emmaus, Liberty and Becahi look like a pretty solid Fab Four in the LVC, the Colonial League is crazy with no one seemingly invincible. Every day, it seems, there's another surprise and Wednesday's big surprise was Northern Lehigh beating Catty with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Here's a recap:

COLONIAL LEAGUE

Palisades 9, Notre Dame 7 -- The Pirates got a 3-run HR and four RBIs overall from winning pitcher Karlee Krchnavi.

Northwestern 4, Bangor 1 -- Erin Day went 2-for-3 and Emily Bennett tossed a 6-hitter.

Pen Argyl 11, Palmerton 4 -- Emily Smull hit a grand slam for the second day in a row and knocked in six runs overall as Green Knights bounced back from six runs.

Wilson 7, Salisbury 1 -- Madison Oren tossed a 6-hitter and Kendra Showalter and Tawney Handelong both went 3-for-4.

Northern Lehigh 2, Catasauqua 1 -- Amber Thomas 3-hitter, Meghan Handwerk had a game-winning, two-run hit in the bottom of the 7th.
