First Place Winners Advance to the National Contest

(May 13, 2013) -- Bethlehem, PA -- WLVT-PBS39 announced the local winners of the 2013 PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest. The first place winners in grades K-3 will advance to the national contest where they will compete against. More than 100 creative entries were received by local children, and eight winners were chosen for first, second, third and illustration recognitions:
KINDERGARTEN
1st place Winner: Theo Gladue, “The Angry Hot Dog”
Illustration: Ada Jane Shin, “Ada and Ava”
FIRST GRADE
1st place Winner: Stephen Behun, “Stephen and His Special Heart”
Illustration: Ananya Gope, “Spider and Elephant”
SECOND GRADE
1st place Winner: Joey Kish, “The Magic Medal”
Illustration: Lydia Nawrocki, “Matthew, The Moose Who Wanted to Wear a Hat”
THIRD GRADE
1st place Winner: Karina Rose Babcock, “Leaving The Hotel”
