FROM MORNING CALL
After two scoreless innings, it looked as if the 2013 PIAA District 11 Class 2A championship game between top-seeded Salisbury and third-seeded Notre Dame Green Pond would be a pitchers' duel for the ages.
The bats broke out, however, during the next four and a half frames, which featured 20 hits, 13 runs, and five errors. The frenzy ended in a convincing 9-4 victory for Salisbury, the second title for the Falcons in three years, and a spot in the state playoffs to face either the District One or District 12 champion.
It was the Crusaders who got the scoring going in the top of the third. Leadoff man, junior center fielder Kyle Buchman, laced a single to left that scored Zach Luke and Seever Hoyak.
