INDIANAPOLIS — Tony Kanaan had led laps in nine of his 12Indianapolis 500 starts, but until Sunday, he never led the one that counts most. The last one.
But when Dario Franchitti's car hit the wall with three laps remaining – just seconds after Kanaan charged into the lead on a restart after another crash – one of the most exciting Indy races in history ended with the cars running under caution.
