Freedom and Liberty high schools, rivals since the Bethlehem Area School District split into two in the late 1960s, will band together for a good cause when they meet Thursday in the final Lehigh Valley Conference softball game of the regular season for each team.
The contest, a pink-out game, will celebrate breast cancer awareness after the passing of Robyn Cecchini on March 11 from the dreaded disease. Cecchini's husband, Bill, is an assistant principal at Freedom and one of their daughters, Emily, is the starting third baseman for Liberty.
