High school softball Monday scoreboard, and updated standings for LVC, Colonial and MVC

FROM KEITH GROLLER

The battle to make the Colonial League tournament tightened on Monday Palmerton beat Pen Argyl. That placed five teams within two games in the loss column of each other.
Southern Lehigh may have posted the biggest win of the day, rallying for three in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Saucon Valley and pretty much knock the Panthers out of the CL picture.
Right now, it's a five-team race for four spots -- Pen Argyl still in the best position at 11-3, but Catty and Palmerton right behind at 11-4 and Notre Dame at 10-4. Southern Lehigh, which still has Salisbury and Pen Argyl to play this week, is 9-5 and will have to win out and get help.
Also on Monday, Wilson, once one of the weakest programs in the area, got its 10th win of the season and that means the Warriors are back in districts for the second straight year.
Here's a look back at the scores:
COLONIAL LEAGUE
Wilson 14, Salisbury 4 -- Michaela Moninghoff 2 HRs, 9 RBIs.
Bangor 18, Northwestern 2 -- Slaters need to beat Pen Argyl on Wednesday to qualify for districts for the first time since the Slaters won the District 11 4A title in 2008.
Southern Lehigh 7, Saucon Valley 6 -- Three runs in the bottom of the seventh gave the Spartans league playoff hope while totally dousing hopes of the Panthers.
Notre Dame 6, Palisades 4 -- Lexi McGivern and Tara Gorman combined for five hits.
Catty 8, Northern Lehigh 3 -- Hannah Edwards steals four bases and Paige Kogelman, sister of major league catcher Anthony Recker, knocks in four runs.
Palmerton 5, Pen Argyl 3 -- Green Knights making four errors has got to have Bill Schankel upset and some wondering whether Pen Argyl has what it takes to repeat as league champs.
LEHIGH VALLEY CONFERENCE
Central Catholic 9, Allen 7 -- Give Vikettes credit for still battling. Meanwhile, it's now 14 straight losses for Allen since April 6 win over Salisbury.
NONLEAGUE
Liberty 2, Pleasant Valley 0 -- Tremendous effort by freshman Victoria Schmidt in getting her first career win. Bears aren't bad and she shut them out on a 4-hitter.
Stroudsburg 4, Dieruff 3 --Congrats to Huskies for getting first win (over Lincoln) the other day and for making this one very respectable.
MVC
East Stroudsburg North 12, Lehighton 4 -- T-wolves one league win away from district berth.
