District 11 events postponed; plus some softball predictions for when they do play

FROM KEITH GROLLER

The rain held off for awhile, but then it let loose.
And now we've had a washout of today's scheduled softball games with everything moved until tomorrow.
The sames goes for the District 11 lacrosse championships scheduled for Emmaus. The girls title game will be at 4 p.m. and the boys to follow at 5:30.
So we're anticipating a washout of today's scheduled softball games.
Good move by those involved to at least get those two 3A quarterfinals played on Wednesday.
Even before the lastest downpour some games like North Schuylkill-Notre Dame and Stroudsburg-Pleasant Valley were postponed until Friday.
When the 4A games are played, here's how we see them:
Northampton 2, Pottsville 1 -- This game was just moved to Friday. Hopefully for them, the Konkrete Kids took notice of what happened to Nazareth. Pottsville has a traditionallty strong program. I know they may not be quite as strong this year, but they're still more than capable of winning games.
Liberty 6, Freedom 3 -- The Hurricanes bats are booming, especially Emily Cecchini and Mariah Kondravy, and I don't know the status of ace Patriots pitcher Emily Gundrum who missed last week's LVC semifinal game against Becahi.
Emmaus 3, Parkland 2 -- Tough one to call. The Green Hornets have a knack of playing well at this time of year and the Trojans have been hard to figure.
Stroudsburg 5, Pleasant Valley 4 -- These two are evenly matched. If they played 30 times, they'd likely each win 15. They have taken turns so far in three games this season and it's Stroudsburg's turn. The Mounties looked impressive against Whitehall.
Class 2A
Notre Dame 6, North Schuylkill 4 -- Can't overlook anybody from the Schuylkill League, but the Crusaders are another one of those teams that always seem to play well at this time of year.
