Nazareth Borough Council appointed the president of Vigilance Hose Company as the borough's new mayor.

Republican Carl Strye Jr. was appointed mayor tonight in a 5-3 vote with Council President Dan Chiavaroli and council members Jack Herbst and Carl Fischl opposing.
