http://sportsmediajournal.com/ Ratings Bonanza for NBC on Ryder Cup, SNF- Sunday was a good day for NBC Sports. The network today announced that the overnight ratings for Sunday’s final round of the Ryder Cup came in 4.1, 71% higher than the last Ryder Cup in 2010, and 21% higher than the last Ryder Cup contested in the U.S. in 2008. Sunday Night Football (SNF) between the Giants and Eagles had an overnight of 15.6, 23% over last year’s week four game (Jets/Ravens). It was also the highest week four primetime game in 16 years. Strong Ryder Cup Numbers for ESPN- Friday’s first round of the Ryder Cup on ESPN gave the network a rating of 1.7 and an average of 1.67 million viewers, making it the highest rated and most watched Ryder Cup coverage on cable. CBS Sets SEC Game for October 13th- CBS Sports has announced that its SEC game for Saturday, October 13th will feature Alabama at Missouri. Kick-off is 3:30p.m. ET with Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Tracy Wolfson. Big Ten Network to Debut Two New Shows- The Big Ten Network (BTN) is launching two new shows this fall. Big Ten Elite, which debuts at 8:00PM ET Tuesday, will give viewers the complete story behind seven great football and basketball squads, and why they are among the conference’s elite teams of all time. The Journey: Big Ten Football starts Wednesday at 7:30p.m. ET will look behind-the-scenes at the Big Ten football schools Scott Ferrall to Host Evenings of CBS Sports Radio- CBS Sports Radio announced today that Scott Ferrall has been hired as the late night weekday host when the network launches in January. Ferrall on the Bench will air weekdays from 10:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. ET beginning on January 2nd. Previously the network announced that Jim Rome would host the Noon to 3:00p.m. ET slot with Doug Gottlieb working the 3:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. ET shift. Race to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Continues Sunday on ESPN- Race four of the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship takes place this Sunday at Talladega on ESPN. Coverage begins with NASCAR Countdown at 1 p.m. ET with Allen Bestwick, Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree on the call. 30 for 30 Returns Tomorrow Night- ESPN Films begins its next installment of the 30 for 30 series tomorrow night at 8:00p.m. ET with the debut of Broke by The U director Billy Corben. Broke looks at the path athletes take to become financially successful during their playing years, and the fall many take after they retire. WNBA Western Conference Semifinals Deciding Game Tomorrow on ESPN2- ESPN2 will have live coverage of game three of the WNBA Western Conference semifinals between the Setalle Storm and Minnesota Lynx. Tip-off is 9:00p.m. ET with Terry Gannon, Rebecca Lobo and reporter Holly Rowe
