Jeff Van Gundy will help get the high school basketball season started on Dec. 6

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Former Knicks head coach and current ESPN NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy will be the keynote speaker at this year's Yasso-Rothrock Christmas City Classic Tip-Off Banquet on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Moravian College. The banquet serves as the start of the high school basketball season and as part of the festivities, Easton's back-to-back state tournament teams of 1971-72 and 1972-73 will be honored. Those teams featured current Red Rovers coach Jim Hutnik as a player. Van Gundy joins an impressive list of previous banquet speakers that includes Doug Collins, Jim Boeheim, Bob Ryan, Michelle Marciniak and many others. The Christmas City Classic, spotlighting all 24 girls and boys teams in the Lehigh Valley Conference, will be held two days later on Dec. 8 at Liberty, Freedom and Bethlehem Catholic.
