Wowo's previous work experience includes psychiatry at SUNY — Downstate Hospital in Brooklyn and resident physician at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Harlem Hospital Center New York. He was also the director of program, planning and analysis at Harlem Hospital Center. Wowo is board certified in psychiatry with medical licensure in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and New York. He graduated from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine with a master's in public health and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Enugu Campus, with a bachelor of medicine degree and a bachelor of surgery degree.
