We are ever so close to a milestone here on the Sports Media Weekly Podcast. Ken Fang of Fang’s Bites and I lead off the show by reviewing the ratings for CBS and ESPN for the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I Basketball Championships.

We then look at the decision facing Major League Baseball as to which network will be granted the rights to televise the one-game Wild Card games new to the post season beginning this year. We also look at the unveiling of the NFL preseason schedules for each network and the unfortunate end to The MTN Sports Network.

Our guest this week is ESPN’s Bob Ley. Ley was one of the first hires for ESPN when the network was launched in 1979. He shares with us his thoughts on the evolution of the World Wide Leader, his work on the World Cup and Outside the Lines, and his affinity for Bruce Springsteen.
