Liberty's Erin Wilson pitches a perfect game; Whitehall, Northampton and Nazareth all win at LVC Softball's "Play Day" at Pates

Erin Wilson pitched a no-hitter against Whitehall on Tuesday and then had a rout outing against Parkland on Thursday in what turned into a 17-5 rout.

The Liberty senior was back on the right track on Saturday at Pates Park, tossing a perfect game in the Hurricanes' 8-0 win over Central Catholic.

Liberty (8-1) had 11 hits and among the top hitters was Mariah Kondravy, who hit a home run and had three RBIs overall.

Also on Saturday at Pates as part of the Lehigh Valley Conference's six-game "Play Day," Whitehall whipped Dieruff 15-0 in four innings, Northampton routed Freedom 10-0 in five innings and Nazareth surprised Bethlehem Catholic 9-6.

Whitehall snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 5-3 with its win over Dieruff. Andrea Emery and Allison Beltz combined on a two-hitter.

The Konkrete Kids improved to 7-3 and dropped Freedom to 3-7 with their dominant performance.

Marly Laubach pitched a two-hitter, while Alesha Marcks hit a two-run home run and Kathyrn Dalton sparked the offense with a double and triple. Tori Gollie also doubled and tripled and had three hits overall.

In Nazareth's win, the Blue Eagles spanked 14 hits.

Amanda Setzer had had three hits, including a two-run home run in the top of the first inning that got Nazareth off to a good start.

It was 2-1 until the top of the fifth when Lizzie Deutsch and Ariane Hilborn had RBI singles to pad the lead for Nazareth.

Becahi closed to within 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth when Taylor Brady tripled.

But Nazareth (6-3) put the game away with five runs in the top of the seventh when it collected six hits, including a two-run single by Dominique Chamberlain, a two-run double by Jen Loftus and a RBI double by Molly Calabrese.

Kate Yanders had two hits for Becahi, the preseason favorite in the LVC, which fell to 7-2.
