Whitehall grad Greene playing well at Misericordia

Former Whitehall standout Matt Greene has helped lead the Misericordia University men’s basketball team to an 8-3 record to finish the first semester.

Greene, a sophomore guard, has started in all 11 games for the Cougars, averaging 6.8 points and 3.75 assists per game.

According to a Misericordina release, he is 49th in the nation in assist to turnover ratio, 2.47 and leads MU with 43 assists. He is also shooting 87.5% from the foul line, missing only two attempts (14-16).

He has scored a season high 14 points against Baptist Bible and again in an 84-71 victory over regionally-ranked Scranton while recording seven assists.

Misericordia returns to action at the Franklin and Marshall Sponaugle New Year’s Tournament, Jan. 2-3
