FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES
21-year-old Nazareth woman is accused of manufacturing methamphetamine in her home, court records say.
Jaclyn Ditaranto, of the 100 block of West North Street, was arrested this morning after borough police searched her home, records say.
Inside Ditaranto's home police said they found cooking devices, a plastic bladder, cold medicine, needles and small plastic bags, records say. They also found a spoon with white residue on it, records say.
Chief Thomas Trachta said Ditaranto was using a method known as "shake and bake," wherein the drug is cooked in small plastic bottles.
Police searched the home after a probation officer told police that people inside might have a meth lab set up, records say. Two other people were inside the house when police raided it, but no one else was charged, Trachta said.
Ditaranto shook her head frequently throughout her arraignment this afternoon before District Judge John Capobianco. She said she had been living in Nazareth for about a month and "was on the streets for a while."
Ditaranto denied the allegations made against her.
"I'm innocent," she said. "Maybe not of all the paraphernalia ... I am innocent."
Ditaranto is charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
