Central Dauphin won its first PIAA football championship tonight, defeating North Penn of Lansdale 14-7 at Hersheypark Stadium in the Class AAAA title game.
The Rams finished the season 15-1, with a school record for wins. North Penn finished at 13-3.
Central Dauphin's Brandon LaVia threw a Class AAAA championship-game record 74-yard touchdown pass to Drew Scales, and Zayd Issah scored on a 2-yard run to account for the Rams' fourth-quarter touchdowns.
The Rams are coached by former Phillipsburg quarterback Glen McNamee.
