This week's notes: Dylan Evans of Pen Argyl broke the school's single season rushing record against Pine Grove last week. Evans now has 1,653 yards on the season, breaking Dan Ruggerio's record of 1,642 yards set in 2006. Evans is 12 yards shy of 4,000 yards for his career and moves up to 18th place all-time in the area going by Jermaine Greene (Str), Dave Kurisco (Dier), Bill Stocker (Wil), Artie Owens (Str) and Sean Bleiler (Park). Evans is still in 6th place all-time in the area with 73 career td's, but is now only one behind Austin Scott of Parkland. Jordan Gray of Nazareth now has 1,147 yards rushing for the year and 15 total td's. James Mungro of East Stroudsburg South still holds the freshman records with 1,233 yards rushing and 17 total td's. Josh Wing of Bangor finished his career with single season school records for rushing yards (1,840) and td's (20). Sophomore AJ Long of Pius X leads the area with 35 td passes this year. The 35 td's ties the single season school record and District 11 sophomore record that Cole Hildabrant held since 2004.
Long's 164 completions also breaks the District 11 sophomore record held by Hildabrant who had 154. He now has 5,618 career yards (11th all-time) and went by Caz Kosciolek (Panther Valley), Brent Andrew (Marian) and his head coach Phil Stambaugh (Pius X). Long is now in 5th place in the District with 63 career td passes. He drops Dan Kendra III to 6th place. Kendra had 60 td passes from 1991-94 at Bethlehem Catholic. Brendan Nosovitch of Central Catholic now has 2,416 yards passing on the season and 7,856 for his career. He's now in 2nd place all-time in the District moving ahead of Wilson's DJ Lenehan who had 7,765 career yards (2003-06). Tyler Smith of Wilson holds the record with 8,035 yards (2006-09). With his 2 td passes against ES North last week Nosovitch becomes District 11's all time td pass leader with 88. Tyler Smith had 87 career td passes for Wilson from 2006-09. Nosovitch, who is also Central's career leader for rushing yards did not have a rushing attempt vs ES North. Nosovitch (2,416 yards) is 3rd in the area behind Long's 2,852 yards and Nazareth's Daniel Harding who has 2,798 yards. All three are chasing Nosovitch's District 11 single season record of 3,111 yards that he set last year. Harding needs 2 td passes to break the school record for career td passes. Ryan Fry had 47 td passes from 1995-98. Ty Edmond of Southern Lehigh needs 86 yards to break his own single season school record. Edmond threw for 1,466 yards last year and he currently has 1,381 yards this year. He matched his td total of last year with 15 and is 2 behind school record holder Corey Sroka who had 17 td passes in 2009. Patrick Cook of Northampton has thrown for 1,403 yards this season and is 285 yards behind school record holder Craig Muschko. Muschko threw for 1,688 yards as a junior in 2002. In order for Cook to break the record against Catasauqua, he would have to break Ryan Mickley's single game record of 274 yards that he set as a sophomore in 2006.

District 11 single season records for Kevin Gulyas of Central Catholic: 88 receptions, 1,393 yards (also has 17 td catches). District 11 career records: 213 catches, 3,563 yards, 44 td catches. Ryan Hester of Bangor tied the school record with his 11th td catch of the year against Pottsville. Jason LaBar caught 11 td passes in 1996 for Bangor. Coincidentally, Hester has 14 career td catches which puts him in 2nd place at the school, sandwiched between Jason LaBar (class of 1997-16td's) and Jason LaBar (class of 1996-12td's). Hester broke Jeramy Albert's career receiving yardage record by 20 yards. Hester finished his career with 968 yards and Albert had 948 yards.
