Oldtimers Picnic to salute Dieruff Sports History

FROM KEITH GROLLER

This year's Lehigh Valley Oldtime Athletes and Friends Picnic/Reunion, the 32nd annual event, will spotlight Dieruff's proud sports history.

Many former Huskies athletes and coaches are expected to attend the event at the Mack Trucks Picnic Grove off Emmaus Avenue on Saturday, June 4. It runs from noon to 5 p.m.

It should be a terrific trip down memory lane.

And, remember that not just Dieruff sports people are allowed to attend.

It's for everybody who cares about local sports over the age of 35. Doesn't matter what sport you played, or whether you played at all. If you just followed local sports, you'll love this event.

I haven't been there for a few years, but the food at this shindig is as impressive as anything I attend all year.

Tickets can purchased by calling Dr. Ken Cressman at 610-799-5533 or Keith Newhard at 610-799-6552.

That's Newhard at the right, alongside Bill Paulik. And remember Newhard is also a guest on this week's "Calling All Sports" TV show.
