Sunday Softball is needed in the Lehigh Valley Conference

FROM KEITH GROLLER

There will be at least one, possibly two, softball playoff games needed in the Lehigh Valley Conference on Sunday.

To clarify -- Liberty, Northampton and Emmaus are all in as division champs, and Liberty has clinched the No. 1 seed for the tournament that is set to begin on Monday night.

One tournament slot is left to be decided.

At the moment, Easton and Becahi are tied for that slot.

However, Freedom can join them if the Patriots defeat Emmaus on Saturday morning in a makeup game.

To sort that out, two playoff games would be played Sunday at Pates Park.

If just one game is needed, it would be Easton vs. Becahi at 3.

If two are needed, Becahi would play Freedom at 2 with the winner taking on Easton at 4, or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.

It's all spelled out in this release below sent out by Dieruff athletic director and LVC softball chairman Tim Geiger.
