Bangor Area High School remains unbeaten in Colonial League boys basketball

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Bangor Area High School's march of destruction through the Colonial League in boys basketball continued this afternoon.

Playing less than 24 hours after a tough, physical 42-39 win over Wilson on Friday night, the Slaters played defense baseline to baseline and registered a 68-50 road win over Notre Dame of Green Pond in front of a packed house, running their league record to 10-0 in league play and 14-1 overall.

"They clearly played harder than we did," said Notre Dame coach Pat Boyle, whose Crusaders fell to 8-5 overall and 5-3 in league play. "They even outrebounded us (30-25) and they're not taller than we are. That's inexcusable."

Andrew Mulitsch led the way with 21 points, hitting eight of 22 shots from the floor, including four of 12 from 3-point range.

Inside, Ben Ammermann added 11 points as Bangor, which suffered its only loss to Emmaus earlier this season, rolled out a 9-4 lead in the first quarter and was never seriously challenged the rest of the way.

Freshman Tyler Kohl led Notre Dame with 13 points and 11 rebounds but did not play after being taken out early in the fourth quarter.
