Air quality alert issued for Monday in Lehigh Valley

The Pennsylvania Air Quality Partnership has issued an Air Quality alert for Monday. According to the release ...

On Monday, expect sunny skies to prevail across the region as high pressure remains in control of our weather. The presence of the high will keep the atmospheric conditions stable. Therefore, we expect very little mixing, either horizontally or vertically, to occur. So with a full day of sunshine and temperatures extending into the mid 90s, expect air quality levels to increase. Ozone should be slightly higher than Sunday's levels, likely peaking closer to the middle of the Code ORANGE range.

An Orange level indicates unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups. The general public is not likely to be affected, however, people with respiratory problems especially lung disease, people with heart conditions, children and the elderly may suffer.
