2010 NAZARETH LEGION BASEBALL SEASON ENDED TUESDAY WITH A 10-5 LOST TO KUTZTOWN

Playing without vacationing starters D.J. King and Drew Hercik, Nazareth Legion didn't have enough firepower to continue the season as it fell, 10-5, to Kutztown and was eliminated from the American Legion Region 2 baseball tournament.

Nazareth scored the opening run in the bottom of the first inning, but Kutztown scored eight in the third and fourth innings to take a commanding lead. Caleb Wessner led the attack with a 2-for-5 performance and three RBIs.

“Jerel (Elliott) looked good, then all of a sudden he couldn’t find the strike zone,” manager Frank Jurasits said of the Nazareth starting pitcher. “That hurt.”

Kutztown advances to play Pennridge -- an 11-5 winner over Nor-Gwyn -- in tonight's championship game.
