NAZARETH GIRLS BASKETBALL BEAT FRANKFORD 45-28 TO MOVE TO THE 2ND ROUND TUESDAY!

Erika Livermore scored 10 straight points during a game-clinching fourth-quarter run, leading the Nazareth girls basketball team to a 45-28 win over Frankford in a PIAA Class 4A first-round state game tonight at Parkland High School.

Livermore finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds for Nazareth (20-7 overall), the District 11 No. 2 team. Caitlyn Gary added 12 points for the Blue Eagles, who will face either District One No. 2 Cheltenham or District 3 No. 5 Central Dauphin East in a second-round state game Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.

Nazareth looked like it would roll after sprinting to a 13-3 lead on Frankford, the District 12 No. 4 team. The Pioneers (18-4) got within a point by halftime and were still down by just six early in the fourth quarter before Nazareth ripped off a 15-2 run to put the game away. Livermore had the last 10 points during that spurt.
