Lehigh beats Lafayette to win the Patriot League, advance to NCAA Tournament

C.J. McCollum scored 20 points to lead Lehigh to the Patriot League title and its first NCAA tournament in six years in a 74-59 win over Lafayette this evening at Stabler Arena.

The Mountain Hawks (22-10) are going to the tournament for the fourth time in team history (1985, 1988, 2004).

Zahir Carrington had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Dave Buchberger scored 13 points to help Lehigh win on its home court in front of a raucous crowd.

Ryan Willen had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Lafayette (19-13). The Leopards were trying to reach their first NCAA tournament since 2000.

Lehigh never trailed and Carrington sealed the win late with two monster dunks that rocked the rim.
