Not much to say early this Saturday morning other than I am eager for our all-area basketball show at Stooges and hope everything goes well.
I hope you'll listen at 1470 AM, the Fox or online at www.fox1470.com. We're going an extra hour, beginning at 9 and extending to noon.
I will have to leave early to get to Villanova for the Liberty game at 1 p.m.
How will that Liberty game go?
Almost every year I take our local team at this point and think they can get it done.
I picked Whitehall to beat Chester in the 2005 quarters and Allen to beat Chester in 2006 and Parkland to beat York last year.
I was wrong in each case.
I do think Hempfield, despite its 29-1 record, is beatable.
However, Liberty must play much better than it has in the state tournament so far.
Hempfield plays better defense than York and has more weapons than Penncrest.
It's going to be a tough one and the big-arena atmosphere will require some adjusting, but after going back and forth about five times, I will go with the Hurricanes in a mild upset 48-46 to set up a monumental task against defending 4A state champ Penn Wood on Wednesday night.
Enjoy your day.
