Mike Kaminski, who did an outstanding job in his one season as head coach of the Northampton Community College men's basketball team, has stepped down.
The school sent out a release earlier today:
In the release, director of athletics Troy Tucker said: "It is definitely a blow to our program losing Coach Kaminski. Given the timing of his appointment last year, I thought he has a very successful season and I was very excited to see his first recruiting class come through the program. I wish Coach K the best as he moves on in his career."
Northampton was 14-13 under Kaminski and defeated Lehigh-Carbon in the league playoffs before losing to national power Brookdale Community College.
He was an assistant coach at NCC for two years under Kevin Foley before becoming the head coach.
Kaminski, who was  34 when he he was hired last summer, is a Central Catholic graduate who is well known in area gyms. He spent three seasons as an assistant under Charlie McGarvey at Nazareth and seven seasons on Doug Snyder's staff at Allen.
Northampton will begin the search process for a new coach in the next two weeks.
