Today we preview the new sitcoms announced for the 2014-15 season. There will be nine new sitcoms on the fall schedule. Three are traditional multi-camera sitcoms. Six are single-camera comedies. Ten additional sitcoms have been ordered for mid-season. They include seven single-camera comedies, two multi-camera sitcoms, and one animated comedy from Fox.
ABC leads the way with four new comedies on their fall schedule. Three are multi-camera. Their only new multi-camera sitcom Cristela will air on Fridays. They have two single-camera comedies for mid-season. Top-rated CBS will have only one new multi-camera sitcom on Thursdays in the fall. They also have The Odd Couple, a multi-camera sitcom starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon, for mid-season. Fox has only one new multi-camera sitcom airing on Sundays. They have two single-camera comedies and one animated series for mid-season. NBC offers three new single-camera comedies in the fall. They have one multi-camera and three single-camera comedies for mid-season.
Some familiar faces returning to sitcoms this season include John Cho, Kurt Fuller, Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Laurie Metcalf, Matthew Perry, Becki Newton, Zachary Knighton, Casey Wilson, Ken Marino, Kate Walsh, Katey Sagal (as a narrator), Krysten Ritter, Craig Robinson, Jean Smart, Elisha Cuthbert, Ellie Kemper and Jane Krakowski.
