When Lehigh announced its recruiting class on Feb. 5, head coach Andy Coen said there would be a few additions to the list.
One of them was announced on Monday as Marc Raye-Redmond from Trotwood, Ohio, has been added to the 19 previously announced recruits.
Raye-Redmond is the third defensive back that Lehigh recruited this year as it needs to rebuild its secondary.
Here are the particulars on Raye-Redmond from a Lehigh Sports Information release:
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head coach Andy Coen has announced the addition of Marc Raye-Redmond to the Mountain Hawks’ 2014 recruiting class. Raye-Redmond, a defensive back from Trotwood-Madison High School in Trotwood, Ohio joins the class of 19 student-athletes that was announced on February 6.

A four-year varsity letter winner and All-Conference selection, Raye-Redmond set an Ohio state record appearing in 60 varsity games in four years. His Trotwood-Madison team advanced to four state championship games, winning a title in 2011.

A standout at running back, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Raye-Redmond rushed for 922 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior. He was named running back MVP of the NVC 5 Star Midwest Junior Day Camp and the VTO 100 Camp.

“I am excited to announce Marc Raye-Redmond as the 20th member of our recruiting class,” Coen said. “Marc is a versatile athlete. During his high school career he was an outstanding tailback, but his skills allow him to play multiple positions. He has great feet and ball stills and we believe he will be a great fit as a cornerback.”

Academically, Raye-Redmond is a four-year honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society. He intends to study in Lehigh’s College of Business and Economics.

Raye-Redmond is the third defensive back in the incoming class, along with safety Steven Brown from West Caldwell, N.J. and cornerback Quentin Jones from Lawrenceville, Ga.

The Mountain Hawks will begin their spring practice segment on Friday March 21.
