FROM KEITH GROLLER
While bad weather approached, the basketball went on at Notre Dame-Green Pond on Sunday where the title game of the Jeff Dailey Memorial Tournament was played.
In an all-Notre Dame battle, it was the Utica, N.Y. version that came out on top over the host Crusaders.in a 66-57 final.
The Utica team outscored Pat Boyle's squad 16-7 in the third quarter to take command.
Kevin Warmack was named tourney MVP with his 24 points on Sunday giving him 51 for the tournament.
Notre Dame got 22 points from Tanner Reed and 14 from Vincent Eze in the loss. Both Reed and Eze made the all-tourney squad as did Pius X's Eric Marbury, Malvern Prep's Joey Fitzpatrick and Utica's Ryan Berman.
The consolation game between Pius X and Malvern Prep was cancelled due to the inclement weather.
