FROM KEITH GROLLER

There are a handful of games on Monday before the teams take off for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and there are some good ones, too, like Dieruff-Bangor, Easton-Liberty, and Northampton-Catasauqua.
But there was a lot of basketball played over the weekend and we now have a better gauge of where teams stand with the holiday break approaching, and once the holidays are over, the season will really pick up steam -- as long as the snow stays.
We'll have more on the MVC and the Colonial League later, but here are the latest LVC rankings:
1. Central Catholic ... 5-0, 3-0 ... Last time, 1st ... Still marvel at that rally against Allen. ... Up next, Play St. John's Prep from Vermont Friday in Trenton Catholic tournament.
2. Parkland ... 4-1, 1-1 ... Last time, 2nd ... Loss to Whitehall may have been the best thing that could have happened.    Up next: Play Perkiomen Valley Friday in own holiday tournament.
3. Allen ... 3-1, 2-1 ... Last time, 7th ... Blowing the big lead to CCHS wasn't good, but fact they had such a big lead was impressive.  Up next: play Neshaminy Friday in own Christmas tournament.
4. Whitehall ... 4-2, 3-0 ... Last time 8th ... Loss to Pleasant Valley after emotional win over Parkland was somewhat understandable and yet must have been frustrating for coach Jeff Jones. ... Up next: Play Saucon Valley Friday inown holiday tournament.
