Nazareth Mayor Fred Daugherty Jr. today submitted a letter announcing his resignation from office, which means a new mayor now will be appointed by council.
Council President Dan Chiavaroli said in an email "it is with regret" to announce that Daugherty has tendered his letter of resignation from the Office of Mayor, effective today.
