Tuesday night boys basketball scoreboard: Big wins for Huskies, Hawks, Tigers and Spartans

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER First big Tuesday night of the season with the Colonial League opening up and some very interesting nonleague games for LVC teams, especially LVC-MVC games. Biggest wins of the night, in my opinion, belonged to Dieruff and Northwestern who are both trying to get things turned around. You can probably put Becahi in the same category. I was also surprised by Southern Lehigh's overtime win over Wilson. Some are picking the Warriors to win the Colonial this year and they began the year with two lopsided wins. But the Spartans, who have little returning experience, pulled the surprise of the night in that league. Here is the scoreboard: COLONIAL LEAGUE Southern Lehigh 55, Wilson 50 (OT) ... Troy Reppert 12 for Solehi, Gerald Terry 20 for Wilson. Catasauqua 68, Palmerton 29 ... Brandon Purrone 13 for Roughies. Northwestern 52, Pen Argyl 48 ... David Wagner 12 for Tigers, Nick Oyer 17 for Knights. Notre Dame 67, Saucon Valley 44 ... Vincent Eze 17 for Crusaders; Mike Kane 11 for Panthers. Bangor 69, Northern Lehigh 61 .. Alex Colton 17 for Slaters; Josh Eden 17 for Bulldogs. Salisbury 54, Palisades 42 ... Dan Reichenbach 14 for Falcons; Ryan Spencer 11 for Pirates. MVC VS. LVC Pocono Mountain West 76, Allen 71 ... Eric Vick 23 points for Panthers; Omar Harrington 26 for Allen. Dieruff 71, Pleasant Valley 63 ... Matt Riddick 25 for Huskies; Devon Howard 21 for Bears. Stroudsburg 63, Emmaus 51 ... David Clowney 25 for Mounties; Nate Feiertag 13 for Hornets. OTHER LVC NONLEAGUE Hazleton 59, Whitehall 42 ... Sal Biasi 28 for Cougars; Brett Radocha 14 for Zephyrs. Bethlehem Catholic 59, Conwell Egan 37 ... Freddie Simmons 18, Matt Husek 15 for Hawks. Parkland 68, GAR Memorial 44 ... Nick Rindock, Austin Beidelman 14 apiece for Trojans. MVC NONLEAGUE Scranton 51, Pocono Mt. East 25 ... Kyle Harris for the Cardinals. OTHERS Lincoln Leadership 47, Warren Tech 18 ... Deontia Robertson 15. Tamaqua 58, Shenandoah Valley 46 ... Brett Kosciolek 17 for Raiders. Salem Christian 38, Upper Bucks Christian 22 ... Salem is now 4-0.
