That's why a pair of wins so far over a perennial Colonial League power like Notre Dame is very meaningful for the Royals, who have hopes of repeating as District 11 Class A champions. Pius X defeated Notre Dame 61-49 to win the Jeff Dailey Memorial Tournament on Dec. 8 and then as if to prove that victory was not a fluke, the Royals defeated the Crusaders again — and again at Green Pond — 65-61 on Wednesday night.
