Flashback: In '02, Dieruff beats Northampton in the first game at newly renovated J.Birney Crum Stadium

Sept. 3 1987 — Lehigh University's Board of Trustees announce the school will replace 73-year-old Taylor Stadium with a new football stadium to be constructed in a natural bowl adjacent to the Stabler Athletic and Convocation Center. The unnamed stadium is scheduled to be ready for the 1988 season. 1977 — Nazareth snaps Whitehall's 16-game winning streak but the Zephyrs' unbeaten streak remains alive at 17 when the two teams battle to a 6-6 season-opening draw at Whitehall. Sept. 4 1997 — Ryan Spear's goal midway through the first half and Shawn Boyle's shutout goaltending gives Whitehall a 1-0 East Penn Conference win over Emmaus, the Zephyrs' first win ever over the Green Hornets and snapping Emmaus' 49-game EPC winning streak.
