Joey Orlando, Shane McNeely involved in an amazing game

(I had Lehigh No. 19 and Lafayette No. 23, by the way). But when it comes to offensive performances, what Old Dominion put on the board against New Hampshire in Norfolk, Va., was not only ranked No. 1 for this season, but was also one of the best performances in the history of college football. In case you missed it, Old Dominion beat New Hamsphire 64-61, scoring 23 straight points at one point to overcome a 54-38 deficit entering the fourth quarter. The game-winning points came on a 25-yard field goal by Jarod Brown with 41 seconds left. ODU quarterback Taylor Heinicke, a sophomore, set a Division I record by throwing for 730 yards. He was 55-for-79 and the completion total was two off the FCS record. He threw for five touchdowns and added 61 yards rushing, giving him a FCS record 791 yards of total offense. The Monarchs set an FCS record with 824 yards of total offense and the game set a combined FCS record of 1,549 total yards. Two locals had a role in this record-breaking game. Liberty grad Joey Orlando caught seven passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns for UNH. On defense, Central Catholic product Shane McNeely had four tackles for the Wildcats
