FROM THE MORNING CALL
Easton's coaches did not need to yell to impart their halftime message. A few pointed comments about the Red Rovers' first-half performance let the players know a repeat over the final 24 minutes would not suffice.
Easton responded with a turnaround that left Parkland's coaches lingering on their home field in bewilderment.
The power running of Austin Brown and Shane Simpson, the pressure generated by defensive end Tyler Greene and a few timely throws from quarterback Brad Wilkins allowed Easton to run off 28 unanswered points in the second half. Two late touchdowns from Parkland left Easton with a 35-28 win, but the final margin hid the way in which the Red Rovers dominated the second half of the Lehigh Valley Conference football opener for both teams.
Parkland's first four possessions after halftime ended in punts. Each time Easton received the ball it marched into the end zone, turning a 14-7 halftime deficit into a 35-14 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
