COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR CHILDREN, Allentown is looking for caring individuals to assist its Head Start teachers with classroom activities in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. Activities consist of reading, role playing, and doing art projects. Minimum age 16. Volunteer opportunities are held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and begin Oct. 3. DELAWARE AND LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR, Easton needs volunteers for its marathon and half marathon on Oct. 23 to cheer on the runners, staff water stations, keep runners on course and for registration and check-in. Volunteers also needed prior to race day for race packet assembly. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt for race day. KIDS PEACE, Orefield needs volunteers to help with its 14th annual Soccer Invitational to assist in the merchandise and concession stands, field marshaling, traffic control, and registration. LIBERTY BELL SHRINE MUSEUM, Allentown is unveiling a new exhibit, a kid-sized, 1/3 scale replica of a Conestoga wagon complete with a scale replica Liberty Bell. Volunteers are needed to help paint the wagon in late August, and also to greet children and guests 10:30 a.m. to noon Colonial Saturday, Sept. 24. Training provided and free parking. PHOEBE HOME NURSING AND REHABILATION CENTER, Allentown, needs volunteers to assist on its memory support units with its Alzheimer and dementia residents.
