Roads closed in Northampton, Lehigh and Monroe counties due to storm

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation provided this updated list as of 10 o'clock this morning of roads that are closed in Northampton, Lehigh and Monroe counties.

PennDOT also lowered the speed limit to 45 mph on Route 22, Route 33 and Interstate 78 in Northampton and Lehigh counties.

Northampton County

Lehigh Drive between Fourth and Adamson streets in the Easton due to flooding;

Bushkill Drive between Zucksville and Kesslerville roads in Forks Township due to flooding;

Black River Road between Wyandotte Street and Bingen Road in Lower Saucon Township due to flooding;

Route 412 between Fourth Street and Commerce Center Bouevard in Bethlehem due to flooding;

Route 412 between Penn Street and Easton Road in Hellertown Borough due to flooding;

Route 512 between Jaindl Boulevard in Hanover Township and Jacksonville Road in East Allen Township due to flooding;

Route 611 between Lower Mud Run Road and Main Street/Front Street in Lower Mount Bethel Township due to a downed tree;

Route 611 between Jacktown and Hester roads in Lower Mount Bethel Township due to flooding;

Route 611 between Lower Mud Run Road and Main Street/Front Street in Lower Mount Bethel Township due to a downed tree;

Route 611 between Jacktown and Hester roads in Lower Mount Bethel Township due to flooding;

The 900 block of North 19th Street closed for a tree down with wires – Fire/police are on scene.

The 1200 block of North 19th Street closed for a transformer fire.

The 20th/Pennsylvania Street intersection closed for a pole down with wires – Fire/ police are on scene.

Kearney/Union Boulevard intersection closed for a tree down with wires.

Monroe County

Route 447 between Stokes Avenue and Brushy Mountain Road in Stroud Township due to flooding.

Business Route 209 between Creek Road and Rim Rock Drive in Hamilton Township due to flooding.

Route 209 is closed through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area from the south contact station to Route 206 near Milford.

Route 191 between Route 447 and Wooddale Road in Stroud Township due to flooding.


PennDOT reminds motorists not to drive across water-covered roadways, as the water could be deeper than it looks. The agency recommends avoiding travel during this storm.
