FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES
The Philadelphia Phillies went from playing two games to one game today against the visiting Florida Marlins, but Hurricane Irene's early arrival nixed that idea.
The 1:05 p.m. start never got under way. The game, which was supposed to be played Sunday, was rained out before a pitch could be thrown. The second game of the proposed day-night doubleheader had been postponed to Sept. 15 on Friday night.
Roy Halladay was scheduled to pitch for the Phillies in today's game first game.
