Indoor Football League set to introduce a Lehigh Valley-based franchise

The Indoor Football League is holding a news conference on Thursday to introduce details of an expansion into the Lehigh Valley.

The yet-to-be-named franchise will begin play at Lehigh University's Stabler Arena in 2011, according to the team website.

Glenn W. Clark, a Wilmington, Del. businessman who holds a BA degree from East Stroudsburg University is listed as the team owner.

The IFL was formed in 2008 from the merger of Texas-based Intense Football League and the United Indoor Football Association out of the Midwest. The Billings Outlaws captured the inaugural United Bowl Championship in 2009.

The season runs from late-February through mid-July and the current setup has 25 teams in six divisions.
