Altoona Curve Baseball Coming to MSA Sports
4/6/2010 - Dan Zangrilli
The MSA Sports Network is pleased to announced that they will serve as the internet broadcast home of the Altoona Curve in 2010, the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The future stars of the Pittsburgh Pirates will play every day during the summer at msasports.net as MSA Sports will broadcast live and archive all 142 Altoona Curve games during the season.

The first broadcast will be Thursday, April 8 at 6:00 p.m. when the Curve host the Harrisburg Senators (AA – Washington Nationals).

“We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with MSA Sports,” said Curve Director of Broadcasting, Dan Zangrilli, who began his career calling high school sports at MSA. “I’m very familiar with the quality product that MSA Sports puts out on a nightly basis, so it was a no-brainer for the Curve to join a first class operation in Management Science Associates.”

In addition to MSASports.net being the internet home of the Altoona Curve, the team will also be heard on a collection of seven stations throughout Western and Central, PA:

Fox Sports Radio 970 (WBGG-AM) in Pittsburgh – 55 games

ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM in Altoona – 142 games

The Edge, 850-AM (WKGE) in Johnstown – 142 games

The Edge, 1400-AM (WWGE) in Loretto – 71 games

News 900, (WCPA-AM) in Clearfield – 100 games

WTRN-AM, 1340/WTRN-FM, 100.7 in Tyrone – 55 games

“We’re excited to add the Altoona Curve to our programming lineup this summer,” said MSA Sports Operation Manager Don Rebel. “Fans will be able to listen to the future stars of the Pittsburgh Pirates right here on MSA.”

Rebel added, “Our bread and butter is obviously high school sports. Adding the Curve brings another dimension to MSA Sports which now makes us one of the most diverse sports broadcasting entities in the region, as our lineup consists of high school sports all the way to one of the highest levels of professional baseball.”
