Book Sale to Support Make a Wish Foundation

Received this note and wanted to forward it along:

My name is Kendall and I am a sophomore at Nazareth Area High School. For the past 3 years, my siblings and I have had a fund-raiser in our neighborhood to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We sold books of all kinds: children’s books, adult books, fiction, and non-fiction and raised over $7800 for Make-A-Wish.

Because of our past success, we are going to do it again this summer. This year’s book sale is extra special for us because all the proceeds from this year’s sale will benefit and assist the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania, Pottsville Regional Office, in granting the wish of Averi, age 3, from Nazareth. Averi has leukemia and has wished to go to Disney World to meet Mickey Mouse. You can find out more about The Make-A-Wish Foundation at www.wishgreaterpa.org.

We will be collecting donated books, either old or new, and having a Book Sale to raise money. The only books that we are not collecting are encyclopedia sets, text books and Readers Digest condensed version books, so please don’t leave any of those. We will then be selling used books for 50 cents to $1 and new books for a little more.

The sale this summer will be on June 25th and 26th from 9am-2pm, at our house at 143 First Street in Farmview Estates, Upper Nazareth.

Please help us out by donating books, telling your friends, and marking you calendars to come shop at our sale in June. Book donations will be accepted starting on May 1st. Books can be dropped off at our house and left on the front porch if we are not home. There are book donation boxes also set up at Lower Nazareth Elementary school, Nazareth Area High School and Nazareth Area Middle School for students and families to put their donated books. Happy reading and hope to see you in June!
