Via All-Star Basketball Clinic - An Event for Kids with Special Needs

WHAT: The Via All-Star Basketball Clinic – An Event for Kids with Special Needs is an inclusive experience for all athletes. The Via All-Star Basketball Clinic is free and run by Traci Cyr, a member of the Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame. The clinic focuses on the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and inclusive setting. The clinic is free for all who wish to attend.

The clinic is a new addition to the Via All-Star Classic. Selected Via All-Stars from the current senior high school graduating class, along with area coaches and members of the Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame will make up the clinic staff.

Registration Information:
· Athletes must be eight years of age or older to participate in the clinic.
· A parent or care-giver is asked to remain in the gym during the clinic.
· Registration is limited to 60 athletes.

BACKGROUND: The Via All-Star Basketball Classic raises funds for Via’s services for children and adults with disabilities. Via of the Lehigh Valley is a non-profit human service agency that provides services for children and adults with disabilities like autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. Serving the community since 1954, Via’s staff help individuals and families from birth through retirement focusing in Children’s Services, Community Connections and Employment.

Via works with children up to age three in their homes and daycares to address disabilities and delays. Via finds jobs in the community for adults and provides coaching and training for successful employment. And Via helps people, from teens to those at retirement age, connect and live in their community by volunteering, participating in leisure activities, and finding or purchasing affordable, accessible housing.
