Lotito rebounded from that 7-5 loss to place seventh; his medal-round opponent was DQ'd for biting. Excellent season for the first-year varsity wrestler. Welsh beat Long 6-3 in 2A states.

Marino wrestled two fiery periods but, as coach Jody Karam said, ran out of gas in the third. ''He was just better tonight,'' Marino said after Saturday's final. Ferraina and Phillippi also qualified for states.

A semifinal loss to Port aside, Glykas had a sharp 3A tournament, placing fourth with two wins over Wolfinger, who finished sixth.

Racciato was sixth in 2A, and Miller (seventh in 3A) won the Pocono Mountain school district's first medal since 1993. Jim Thorpe's Smith also qualified for states.
