Williams forfeited to Bilotta for 2A fifth but gets the edge based on 7-6 win in Southeast regional consolation round. Holley looks to return Dieruff to states next year.

Noteworthy: Cruz came tantalizingly close to a state title, falling in the last few seconds in the 2A final. Lotito had a terrific 3A tournament, giving eventual champ Jimmy Gulibon of Derry his closest bout of the tournament. Lotito rebounded from that 7-5 loss to place seventh; his medal-round opponent was DQ'd for biting. Excellent season for the first-year varsity wrestler. Welsh beat Long 6-3 in 2A states.

Noteworthy: Marino was unstoppable this postseason until the 3A final, when he ran into two-time state champ Nico Megaludis of Franklin Regional. Marino wrestled two fiery periods but, as coach Jody Karam said, ran out of gas in the third. ''He was just better tonight,'' Marino said after Saturday's final. Ferraina and Phillippi also qualified for states.

Noteworthy: Horan might be among the dozen best overall wrestlers in the state but seems stymied by his weight-class finals. For the third consecutive year he won silver, this time falling to Bellefonte's Mitchell Port in 3A. A semifinal loss to Port aside, Glykas had a sharp 3A tournament, placing fourth with two wins over Wolfinger, who finished sixth.

Noteworthy: Minotti defeated Toledo for 3A fifth place, his fourth win over Toledo this season. Toledo medaled for the first time in four trips to states. Racciato concluded a spectacular year by placing third in 2A. He went 4-1 with three pins, including one in the bronze-medal bout.

Krecker a very close No. 2 after placing fourth at states for the second consecutive year. Racciato was sixth in 2A, and Miller (seventh in 3A) won the Pocono Mountain school district's first medal since 1993. Jim Thorpe's Smith also qualified for states.

He rebounded from an opening-round loss to place fifth, pinning the wrestler to whom he lost earlier. Saucon Valley's Edmonson qualified for states in 2A.
