The semifinals are over at the PIAA 2A Wrestling Championships and Bethlehem Catholic's Randy Cruz and Kyle Dehaut have survived to earn spots in Saturday's finals.
Cruz came through with a 9-2 decision over Benton's Colt Cotten at 112 pounds. He will face David White of Athens for the championship here at the Giant Center.
Dehaut, with the help of a five-point move early in the match, edged Burrell's Travis McKillop 7-6 at 152.
Pen Argyl's semifinal contingent was not nearly as fortunate as Matt Williams (103), Mike Racciato (130) and Phil Racciato (145) each lost.
Later, Catasauqua's Curtis Garner succumbed to Lackawanna Trail's Eric Laytos 8-4, leaving Cruz and Dehaut as the only athletes from The Morning Call region alive for gold medals.
